New Year Message from Grandmaster Hee Il Cho to AIMAA Members

Many new challenges presented themselves in the past year, but every challenge is an opportunity to strengthen and demonstrate our resilience.

Our AIMAA Headquarters officially relocated to a new space within the Koko Marina Shopping Center in March thanks to the dedicated support of our high Black Belt students.

We were also able to welcome back AIMAA European Director Grandmaster John Darcy and his family and host another successful International Black Belt Testing in November. We celebrated the many milestones of AIMAA England with Grandmaster Amrit Kalcutt earning his 8th Degree after over 38 years of contributing to our association. Master Stephen Hall earned his 7th Degree, while we also celebrated the new Masters of AIMAA England with Master Manjit Kalcutt, Master Geoffrey D. Chapman, and Master Keith Fowles earning their 6th Degrees. AIMAA England also applauded the 2nd Degree achievement of Alexis V. Wade, while AIMAA Headquarters celebrated their own young students earning their 2nd Degree Black Belts after years of dedicated training: Jack Pellett, Justin Pellet, Kainalu M. Dulatre, and Keale A. Dulatre.

After years of lockdown and separation, many AIMAA members have finally started to settle back into their rhythms and reconnect with others. We look forward to ushering in this renewed energy and enthusiasm for a stronger and more collaborative future throughout AIMAA worldwide.

AIMAA would not be possible without your continued loyalty and contributions. I am now moving toward my mid-80s, the latest stages of my life. My own vigor is not what it used to be, but I am still in the school training and teaching every class. I remain dedicated to Tae Kwon Do and the martial arts, which has transformed my life in ways beyond my youngest dreams. It is my hope that this art and way of life yields you the same fruit.

Keep pushing, as I continue to in both body and spirit. May the New Year reward your perseverance and indomitable spirit.

Warmest Regards,

Grandmaster Hee Il Cho
President/Founder AIMAA
