Master Darcy: Scotland Seminar 2013

On Saturday 11th May over seventy AIMAA members from Scotland and Ireland came together to attend a fantastic seminar with Master John Darcy. The AIMAA European Director was in Scotland as the guest of Mr and Mrs Belgacem and Mr Walker who had been preparing the event for many months.

Students from White Belt to Fifth Degree Black Belt gathered at Cho's Larkhall for Master Darcy's seminar. Mr Belgacem had to rearrange things slightly and hire a larger area within the sports complex to accomodate the large number of attendees eager to learn from the Seventh Degree Black Belt and highest ranking European AIMAA member.

The seminar, which lasted for two hours, covered many different areas of Tae Kwon Do and Master Darcy was able to hold everyones attention the whole time. Even the youngest students in attendance stayed completely focussed through out and were amazed with Master Darcy's skills and teaching style.

Master Darcy's seminar was a celebration of AIMAA Tae Kwon Do from beginning till end. The anticipation in the hall before Master Darcy was introduced was extrememly exciting for all. The seminar itself was another fantastic two hours of training and even afterwards when Master Darcy posed for photographs with all the students everyone was having a great time waiting their turn and exchanging thoughts and comments with their fellow students.

Mr and Mrs Belgacem, along with Mr Walker would like to extend their sincere thanks to everyone who supported this amazing event. A special thanks to all AIMAA Ireland Instructors and Black Belts who made the jouney to support the seminar. Mr Aeneus O'Connor, Mr Paul Healy, Mrs Denise Murray and Miss Sonia O'Shaughnessy are all loyal AIMAA members who continue to show endless enthusiasm and dedication towards the benefit of our AIMAA Association. Master Darcy will be returning to Scotland on Saturday 19th October for our Black Belt Testing at Cho's Lochend and has confirmed with Mr Belgacem that he will teach class at our school that weekend also! Stay tuned for all further details!!!
